VAS Arena Rules and Code of Conduct Please remember that this facility is run entirely by VOLUNTEERS. Do your part to maintain our arena by following these guidelines. HAVE FUN!! **For Insurance purposes, the “Acknowledgement of Risk & Release of Liability” MUST be signed (1) when you pay your drop-in fee BEFORE you ride or (2) at the time you take out your riding membership.
**Complete a membership form for annual membership.
*The forms and fees are to be placed in the drop box & ALL riders are to sign in each time they ride! Failure to do so can result in your use of the facility being revoked and will be considered TRESPASSING.-Minors under that age of 16 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian and wear a certified riding helmet at all times. NO exceptions!!
-Access to the arenas are by key code only. Riders must contact a board member for the code. As this is not a public facility do not distribute the key code.
-Manure must be picked up inside and outside the arena, including the parking lot. Rakes and wheelbarrows are provided (to be put back in arena when done).
-Please empty the garbage into the dumpster and put in a new garbage bag, please don’t wait until they are overfull! (garbage bags are found under the full bag)
-Use arena etiquette and respect other riders. Respect all equipment within the arenas, put away any/all equipment when you are done with it.
-Leave the ground as you found it. Raking is required (filling in holes), especially if you have worked barrels.
-Maintain control of your horse; do not leave horses unattended and do not let horses wander around unsupervised. Please use available metal fence staging area on south end to tie outside of riding area.
-Please put a green ribbon on your stallion’s tail when using the arena.
-If you have a horse that kicks please put a red ribbon on its tail, if it bites put a red ribbon on its mane or bridle Ribbons need to be visible.
If you or your horse is responsible for any damage to the facility or equipment within the facility, please report this to the Vegreville Ag Society 780-632-3950 email firstname.lastname@example.org
Inform the ag society any damage or maintenance required in the facility. Office 780-632-3950
Report suspected abuse of the facility to the Vegreville Ag Society.
Be a responsible equine owner and only bring healthy horses to the facility.
All riders MUST hold current Alberta Equine Federation membership, OR current 4H MEMBERSHIP (and it has to be a 4H event)
*No smoking. * No alcohol. *No hay / straw or feed inside the arenas.
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times
A) Horse Arena Membership * includes standard membership & access to outdoor & indoor riding facilities *prebooked $155
B )Family Horse Arena Membership *included use of outdoor and indoor arena must be prebooked *must be immediate family members) (spouse and children under 18) $390
C) Drop in Fee $20/horse max of 3 hours – drop in sheets at arena
D) Day use / private clinic $200.00 / day
E) 4H equine use $10/horse drop in sheets at arena
F) 4H clinic or day use $100
G) Other use : TBA / hour Canine classes or equine massage or shoeing—Rental is based by 1 hr minimum rentals up to (0- 3 hours)
